OnTalent is proud to partner with selectability to appoint its next Chief Financial Officer, a significant executive opportunity for a finance leader seeking scale, purpose and lifestyle in one of Queensland’s most liveable regional cities.
This role is based in Townsville, and relocation will be required for candidates who are not currently located in the region.
selectability is a large and growing not-for-profit organisation headquartered in Townsville, with circa $90m turnover and approximately 850 employees. The organisation delivers mental wellbeing, NDIS, child and family, youth residential care and aged care services across regional Queensland, supporting people and communities through locally accessible, person-centred services.
This is a compelling opportunity for a contemporary CFO to join an organisation that has materially changed in scale, scope and complexity over recent years. As selectability enters its next stage of maturity, the CFO will play a central role in strengthening financial strategy, governance, reporting, systems, decision-making and long-term sustainability.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and working closely with the Board and Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will provide strategic advice on selectability’s current and future financial position. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, internal controls, risk, capital planning, investment analysis and finance function development. You will also support ongoing systems and process improvement, ensuring finance is positioned as a high-value partner to the organisation.
This role will suit a CA or CPA qualified finance executive who brings CFO or senior finance leadership experience in a complex organisation. You may come from not-for-profit, health, disability, aged care, community services, education, government, infrastructure, commercial services or another multi-site, people-intensive environment. Most importantly, you will bring sound judgement, strong commercial discipline, confidence at Board and executive level, and a genuine interest in contributing to an organisation with meaningful community impact.
Townsville offers a rare combination of executive opportunity and lifestyle. As the largest city in North Queensland, it provides strong community connection, quality schools, coastal living, access to Magnetic Island and the Great Barrier Reef, and a central role in the region’s economic and social future. For candidates looking beyond a conventional capital city executive pathway, this role offers the chance to lead at scale while building a life in a vibrant regional centre.
